Angela Kot

Angela Flickinger Kot, a proud 1993 graduate of Dover High School, has led a life defined by service, dedication, and advocacy. Her distinguished military career in the United States Army includes deployments to the Gulf War, Operation Uphold Democracy in Haiti, and Bosnia-Herzegovina. For her outstanding service, she received numerous honors, including the Army Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.

Beyond her military accomplishments, Angela is a passionate advocate for the autism community. She is the founder and president of Autism at Face Value, a nonprofit organization that helps individuals with autism better understand and navigate emotions. Through this work, Angela co-created a groundbreaking comic book series featuring the first officially recognized Autistic superhero—offering representation, empowerment, and hope to countless readers.

Angela has also been instrumental in organizing inclusive community events, such as the Splash Book Carnival in Dover, designed to help neurodivergent authors and artists connect, collaborate, and express themselves in social settings.

In 2023, she further expanded her impact by building partnerships with the Amazing Kids Club, leading Autism at Face Value through multiple successful fundraisers, and writing countless grants to sustain and grow her organization’s mission. Angela’s life is a powerful example of leadership, creativity, and compassion in action.

Trisha Lane

Trisha Lane is the mother of three and a passionate, outspoken advocate for people living with terminal cancer. At just 34 years old, she was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. But instead of retreating, Trisha chose to speak out, courageously sharing her journey of misdiagnosis, the emotional toll of treatment, and the critical importance of genetic testing.

Her story has reached thousands through regional news and social media, inspiring many women to schedule screenings, seek second opinions, and take charge of their health. What sets Trisha apart is not only her strength in the face of a private battle but her willingness to lead publicly — transforming personal adversity into a force for change.

Trisha is the founder of The Power of One, a sister charity organization to Cancer Culture, where she serves on the board, supporting individuals and families navigating terminal cancer. The foundation provides care packages, transportation assistance, emotional support, and other essential services to help ease the daily burdens of end-of-life care.

Beyond her nonprofit work, Trisha is active in online advocacy and peer support. She connects directly with patients, shares resources, and partners with local organizations to raise awareness about healthcare gaps and patients’ rights. Her work is driven by empathy and shaped by her lived experience, making her a true force for hope, change, and connection.
