Weigelstown Elementary School
Welcome to Weigelstown Elementary School, where we are Dover PROUD!
At Weigelstown, we work hard to create a positive learning environment for our students. A large part of our school day is dedicated to academic programming that supports the academic growth of our students. We recognize that students learn best when the school environment provides supports beyond academics. Therefore, we are also purposeful in providing programming that supports the social/emotional, behavioral, and developmental growth of our children. Our faculty and staff are committed to our students and their families. We want all students to succeed, and we look forward to building meaningful relationships with our students and their families.
If you have questions, concerns, or need any type of assistance we have a team of individuals prepared to assist you. Mrs. Hoover and Mrs. Rupp are available for front office questions, such as attendance and general school happenings. Communication with your child's teacher is vital. The teacher is the professional who works the most with your child, and is your first point of contact. If there are concerns requiring support beyond the classroom teacher, we have the support of our school counselor Mr. Bryan Buckley and our building interventionist/dean Mrs. Stephanie Sabol. There are other individuals we can turn to for additional support, as needed, including school social workers.
We are most successful at supporting students when we partner as a school and community. One way to build that partnership is through parent involvement, such as participation in PTO. The PTO has traditionally supported and funded field trips, assemblies, and other activities in the fall and spring of the school year. Students look forward to these events. We hope you will consider supporting our PTO.
