Sad News

Hello, DASD Families.

With great sadness, we must inform you that we have lost a member of our school family. A 12th-grade student at the High School passed away yesterday. As the situation evolved, the district respected the privacy and wishes of the student’s family. Our District crisis team has coordinated internal and external counselors to help our students and staff manage their feelings of shock and work through this loss. Counseling services will continue in our High School’s large group instruction [LGI] Room in the upcoming days. 

Those in buildings other than the High School who wish to utilize counseling services should access them through their building’s office. This loss deeply saddens us as a school community. One of our pillars as a district is our strength as a community. As a school community, we will continue supporting each other through this difficult time.
