UPDATE: North of the Borough Detour Plan - Carlisle Road
UPDATE (2024-05-14)
The Dover Area School District has been advised that the Carlisle Road Construction Project will begin on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Carlisle Road will be closed from Stony Lane to George Street during construction hours. A previous message supplied a detour route, which is also linked below, and the message is posted on the district’s website. Detour signs are also posted. Multiple bus routes have been affected by this project. Those students affected will receive a separate message advising them of their new times. In addition, families can confirm their bus stops and times through their Skyward Family Access account. Several other secondary school routes may affect their times as they detour around to get to their stops. This may cause some of the elementary runs to be delayed in getting to their respective elementary schools. We are asking all students to please be at their bus stops at least 10 minutes before the morning pickup time. Please be patient while we dial in the route times. Any questions should be directed to the Dover Area School District Transportation Department.

UPDATE - North of the Borough Detour Plan
Doli Construction Corp. is planning on closing Carlisle Road as early as next week to install new sanitary sewer mains and laterals. This work will include the area between George Street and Jim & Nenas restaurant. During the closure, traffic will be detoured during the day as shown on the attached plan. Detour signs are being placed in preparation of the work. Unless rock is encountered, work is planned to last about a month. Final paving on the entire roadway to happen after the sewer work is completed.
Traffic will only be detoured during Doli’s working hours. After hours, normal traffic will flow on Route 74. Also, during Doli’s working hours, local traffic to homes and businesses will still be allowed through.

The District anticipates this project to begin on or about May 15, 2024. We are hoping the project will be completed before August, 2024. We will be reviewing all District Transportation Methods to determine if re-routing is required. If so, those families affected will be notified.
