NEW Distinguished Alumni Program
The Dover Area School District is PROUD to announce its Distinguished Alumni Program. The program intends to recognize alumni who have excelled in their professions and are outstanding role models for DASD students. Distinguished Alumni are selected by a committee of district officials, teachers, Dover Eagle Foundation representatives, and alumni based on the criteria listed below. All members of the DASD Community, past and present, are encouraged to nominate outstanding individuals for this award.
Criteria for Distinguished Alumni:
- Individuals must be out of high school for at least ten years and
- Individuals must have earned professional/personal achievements or career/military service distinction: The recipient attained prominence in his or her field that forms a record of significant accomplishment and
- Individuals must demonstrate service to the community and beyond. The recipient exhibits integrity and a demonstrated commitment to service through an interest in bettering the lives of others
Distinguished Alumni will be recognized and may be invited to speak with Dover students and/or staff; however, this is not a requirement to be selected.
Many Dover Area School District graduates have pursued successful careers, and the pool of Distinguished Alumni candidates is deep. If a nominated individual is not chosen in the first year, his or her nomination will be kept on file for consideration for five years.
Each chosen alumni must submit a satisfactory photo for district use.
