Hello, Dover Community. There is no threat that the Dover Area School District is aware of concerning our buildings. We have learned that the Pennsylvania Criminal Intelligence Center has shared that several Pennsylvania school districts have reported receiving bomb threats and active shooter situations today. Additionally, an active shooter event occurred at a retail establishment in Springettsbury Township. Based on phone calls the district is receiving, we understand that some of our secondary students have texted their families or siblings, claiming a similar event was transpiring in a Dover Area School District building. THE STATEMENTS ARE RUMORS. Our school resource officers have worked quickly to ensure safety and continue to remain vigilant.
