Dover Area School District participates in the Lincoln Intermediate Unit (LIU) Guest Teacher Program, which prepares individuals with a bachelor’s degree (any subject) to serve as substitute teachers.

A day-to-day substitute with a PDE emergency permit (renewable annually at district discretion).
What are the qualifications?
U.S. bachelor’s degree
Foreign degrees require evaluation by NACES or AICE.
What does the training program include/cost?
Classroom management, PDE application support (costs set by LIU).
What are the pay rates?
Same as day-to-day substitutes ($110–$120, tiered by days worked).
