Message from the Director

Welcome to the Dover Area High School Career Technical & Education, where we help students build their future!

We are proud to provide nine Pennsylvania Department of Education Bureau of Career & Technical Education-approved  CTE Programs of Study to our students.  Each program includes a series of classes designed to help students build the skills they need for success in their chosen field.  Our programs are flexible.  Students schedule elective credits to complete these programs while working towards the rest of their high school graduation requirements.  We currently offer:

  • Business (Accounting Technology, Marketing, and  Business Office Management)

  • STEM (Engineering Technology, and Computer Technology)

  • Visual Communications (Commercial & Advertising Art)

  • Agriculture (Agriculture Mechanics, Horticulture and Agriculture General).

We also equip students with leadership and real-world experience through student organizations, access to postsecondary credits, industry credentials, and connections to local companies. DECA, FFA, and SkillsUSA help our students build teamwork and leadership skills. CTE students can earn college credits through state and local articulation agreements with post-secondary institutions.  Our programs also offer industry certifications, and our students can participate in work-based learning experiences like job shadowing, pre-apprenticeships, and cooperative learning with local employers.

Local companies are critical to our programs.  Every program has an Occupational Advisory Committee composed of local industry partners who share their expertise to keep our programs current.  We’ve also partnered with the York County Manufacturers Association to offer pre-apprenticeship hours through our Engineering & Advanced Manufacturing Program.  Our programs provide a bridge to help students and companies connect.

Dover’s CTE students are ready for life after graduation, whether they are choosing employment in their chosen career, enlistment in the military, or enrollment in post-secondary education.

Dover CTE works to educate, empower, and inspire all of our students to help build a community that makes us all #doverproud.
