School Counselor

The mission of the Dover Area School District School Counseling program is to build upon the unique strengths of each student in the areas of Academic, Social, Emotional, and Career development.  In partnership with the school personnel, students, families, community, post-secondary institutions, and the workforce, our goal is to deliver a comprehensive developmentally appropriate school counseling program aligned to the state and national standards.

My name is Jessica Knowles and I am excited to be the school counselor at Dover Elementary.  I have worked in education for 14 years, both in an elementary classroom, as a teacher, and outside the classroom, as an elementary, middle and high school counselor.  I have my Master's Degree in school counseling from McDaniel College and my Post-Masters School Counseling Certification from Messiah College.  Outside of school, I spend time juggling a family schedule with two teenagers, as well as camping, hiking or boating when I have a free weekend.
