National Junior Honor Society
The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is a prestigious organization recognizing students who exemplify its five pillars: scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship.
Eligibility Criteria
Students in 7th or 8th grade with a cumulative GPA of 93% or higher by the end of the first marking period will be invited by an advisor to apply for NJHS membership.
Membership Application and Induction
Eligible students must complete an application showcasing their qualifications in service, leadership, and citizenship, along with teacher recommendations. Applications are reviewed by the Dover Area Middle School NJHS faculty panel. Qualified applicants are inducted annually in the fall.
Maintaining Membership
To remain in NJHS, members must:
- Maintain a minimum grade of 93% in all classes.
- Demonstrate exemplary behavior in and out of the classroom.
- Complete the required service hours by the end of 8th grade.
Failure to meet these expectations may result in termination of membership.
