Skylert and Skyward Family Access Page

Family Access is an application through Dover Area School District’s student information management software, Skyward, that will allow parents to view student attendance, demographics, grades, emergency information, report cards, and more. Each authorized parent or legal guardian is provided with his/her unique login and password for Family Access. You only need one login to access all of your students. The login that is assigned will remain active throughout all of the years that you have a student enrolled in the district. To obtain your login and password, simply contact the building where your student is enrolled. Do not share your login information with your student. Students are provided with their own unique login information to view their grades, assignments, and schedule.

When you log in to Family Access, please take a moment in the Student Information section and verify that the information the district has on file is correct. Please be sure to verify that your e-mail address is correct. If there is any information that needs to be changed, click on “Request Change(s) to My Child’s Information” at the top right of the screen, enter your changes, and click on Save. Your changes will be electronically submitted to the office for approval. Your student’s school office may be contacting you if additional information is required to complete your request. Please note that you cannot change your residential address through Family Access. You MUST visit your student's school and show appropriate proof of residency.

The district is very excited about how Family Access will help you stay informed about your student’s progress and hope that we can use this tool to create a stronger relationship between parents and our school community.

The Dover Area School District is pleased to announce our use of the Skylert notification service. Skylert is a messaging system that allows the district to quickly send mass notifications to employees, parents, the community, and students. Skylert works through Skyward's Family Access to provide you with the means to manage your contact sources and choose how you will be contacted for a variety of purposes.

Skylert can provide you with information in three ways:

  • Telephone/Cell Phone Call Electronically Recorded Messages
  • E-mails
  • Text Messages (Standard text message rates apply; the district does not pay for any text-message fees charged by your cellular provider)

In addition, the Dover Area School District uses Skylert to send daily attendance calls to notify parents if their child has unexcused absences. 

Get notified in 3 easy steps!

1. Log into your External LinkSkyward Family Access account at External Linkwww.doversd.org and click the Skylert link on the left side menu.

*If you don't know your Skyward login, contact your school office.

2. Edit any of your information.

3. Choose the types of alerts you want to receive alerts by phone, email or text/SMS and click Save on the upper right side of the screen.

If you do not have Skyward Family Access currently set up, please contact the school your child(ren) attend(s). Changes in the system will take effect the following day.

If you have forgotten username or password information, you can try to reset it by clicking on the "Forgot your Login/Password?" Link just below the Sign in button on External LinkDASD Skyward login page. If are you still to login, please contact the school your child(ren) attend(s) for assistance.

If you do not have internet access, please contact the school your child(ren) attend(s) and they can set up your preferences for you.

How do I add emergency contacts for my student(s)?
  1. Log in to to Family Access.
  2. Click Student Info on the left side of the screen.
  3. On the right side of the screen, click “Request Changes for…”.
  4. Click Add Emergency Contact (or click Emergency Contacts).
  5. Complete the information and click Save.

The same process may be followed to modify/delete emergency contacts information.

How do I update calling information for notifications?
  1. Log in to Family Access​.
  2. Click the Skylert link on the left side menu.
  3. Add/modify any information.
  4. Choose the types of alerts you want to receive alerts by phone, email, or text/SMS.
  5. Click Save on the upper right side of the screen.

You can add cell and work numbers. You may also add an additional phone number, e-mail address, and text message number at the bottom of the screen. Do you have a friend or relative who watches your student if school is delayed or closed? Consider using one of these additional fields for them to receive notifications.  Changes to phone numbers and calling options will take effect the following day.

How do I update my student(s) physician, dentist, and hospital in Skyward?
  1. Login to Family Access.
  2. Click Student Access on the left side of the screen.
  3. On the right side of the screen, click “Request Changes for…”.
  4. Click Emergency Information.
  5. Enter, or modify, Physician, Dentist, and Hospital for your student.
  6. When you are done, click the Save button at the bottom of the screen.
Is there an app?

Yes, there is a Skyward app on for both iOS devices and Android devices.
