We believe all Dover Eagles will demonstrate

Every Student, Every Day, Whatever It Takes!
August 1, 2021
The Dover Area School District has been working diligently over the past few years to bring our mission and vision to life by aligning our programs, curriculum, instruction, and services in order to challenge and support each student. DASD faculty and staff members strive to partner with our families and community organizations to meet the needs – academic, emotional, physical, and social - of the whole child.
In September of 2020, we opened our brand new, state-of-the-art high school. This building is specifically designed to cultivate the 21st Century skills that students need to thrive today and in their futures: collaboration, critical thinking, digital literacy, and problem solving. In addition, the former high school has been renovated and is now our middle school, which houses students in sixth, seventh and eighth grades. It is our intent to open up our new and renovated facilities to the public as soon as our Health and Safety Plan allows.
We celebrate the fact that we were able to open our doors last Fall and make it through the 2020-2021 school year despite the many COVID-19-related obstacles in our path over the past year. Our students, staff, and community partners have done an outstanding job of rising above the circumstances to continue to provide a first-class education to our students.
My Entry Plan includes meeting with individuals and groups, visiting buildings and classrooms, and attending district and community events. It’s important to me to be visible in our schools and at events and to get to know the Dover community. I’m learning more about the district every day. I’m observing promising, student-centered philosophies and programs. I’m impressed with our remarkable students, our dedicated employees, and our supportive community. It’s encouraging to meet so many who love Dover and want the very best for Dover Area School District and its students.
I am full of optimism for the future of DASD. My goal is to honor and build upon the effective practices already in place in Dover with of culture of growth, a culture of excellence, and a culture of well-rounded, rigorous curriculum and instruction that prepares our students for careers and college – their futures.
