Mission Statement

The Dover Area High School Alumni Association is an organization open to all Dover High School graduates and associates of the School.

The Association builds-upon, shares and honors our heritage.

The Association provides opportunities for communication between alumni through social interaction.

To affirm the community, efforts are made to award post-secondary scholarships to graduating Dover seniors and to be of service to the Dover Community.

DAHSAA has chosen to provide Scholarships in the amount of $1000.00, to assist future Dover alumni.  

The awards are based on the following:

  • SAT or ACT Scores
  • Academic Achievement (grades)
  • Work Experience
  • Community Service
  • Honors and Awards
  • Leadership
  • Extracurricular Activities
  • Essay
  • Financial Need
  • Proof of Acceptance to an Institution of Higher Learning
  • 2 Letters of Recommendation - One from a prominent community leader or teacher or staff member and one from a person familiar with your character (no family members).
  • Application Form Completed- by March 31, 2021.

Applications may be obtained from your Guidance Councilor, before Christmas break. Please remember to give those who are providing letters of recommendation, ample time to prepare the letter (s).   Individual checks for the scholarships will be made out to the post high school institution, where each student will attend.  These checks will be presented at the annual scholarship dinner, in May, 2021.

DAHSAA Scholarship Recipients will be expected to attend the annual DAHSAA picnic lunch at Brookside Park on, Sunday, May 2, 2021, where they will be introduced to the DAHSAA members, who worked hard to raise money for these scholarships.  Students and their families are invited to attend this free event.

All members of the scholarship Committee will read all applications.  The scoring is based purely on a point system.  No one on the committee knows who will receive the scholarships until the scores for each topic are entered into the computer system.  All information is confidential and shredded, when no longer needed.
